In 2018, Snowden School held a school-wide mural design contest in which students submitted their art for the chance to have created the final mural design. Local business owners and other community members were asked to be on the selection committee to choose the winner. The selection committee included representatives from RiverArtsFest, University Cleaners, Cafe Eclectic, and St. John Orthodox Church.

Seventh grade student Ally Wright came up with the winning design, and the finished mural was just recently installed on Snowden School.
