Festival Poster artist

Each year a local artist with ties to the Memphis arts community is selected as our commemorative fine arts poster artist. Derived from original work, the poster design is intended to communicate the vitality of our community and our festival.

Posters (24”x36”) will be sold at the Art Center Supply and Frame Shop on Union Ave., the Gift Shop at the Brooks Museum, and during the festival at the merchandise booth for $35. The framed original artwork (36”x48”) is on view and available for purchase at the Gift Shop at the Memphis Brooks Museum.

2025 FESTIVAL Poster Artist

Hillary Butler is a proud Memphian, born and raised in the Bluff City. She is a semi-abstract painter who has been professionally filling walls with elevated color soirees since 2011. Her goal is to inspire fun and joy for her collectors. She is honored to have work on ABC’s hit show, Nashville, and has had the opportunity to show at Agora Gallery in New York. Several hit blogs have featured some HB work. Among these are Better Homes and Gardens, Domino, & Design Love Fest.

Rivers of Babylon

This year’s commemorative fine arts poster, Rivers of Babylon by Hillary Butler, captures both the energy of the river and the vibrancy of our community. An abstract landscape painted in acrylic on paper, the piece was inspired by the city’s connection to the Mississippi River. The sweeping black swirl at the top evokes the river itself, while Butler’s intuitive process brings focus to color by layering translucent paints to create depth, movement, and harmony. With seafoam and green tones leading the palette, the work reflects Butler’s fascination with how color can sing when carefully pushed, pulled, and balanced on the canvas.
